We left the dock at 5:45 headed to Ryans Horn after a short stop at Nyman's to pick up bait and top of with fuel. We made a couple of runs around the Sub Bouy to see if we could pick a few blues. I marked a let on the sounder but none would bite. We decided to use the macks. We wanted to start fishing for mister shark. We set up on ryans the water was 71.5 degrees. We set up the chum slick but we only had one visiter that left as quickly as he showed. Sharks 1 Cruise Control 0. I hope I can get this skunk off on the next trip. | ||

| I've found that once the water hits about 70, sharking from the ranger to the horns gets very slow. I basically chase the cooler water east as the temps rise, then retreat with it again at the end of the season. I'll go to the claw, fingers, sw of the dump, or beyond if need be. You can also pick at the near shore edges if there is a good break there (like now). The 20 fathom curve from shinnie to the CIA grounds will hold shark when the offshore waters are warm. | ||
