Small Bluefin south of Block Island

Went out at first light today with a couple friends on the R.I.Popper and within 1 hour trolled up a nice 35" little bluefin. Then headed back to south shore to do some fluking. It was turning into a parking lot out there.

Ended up hooking him up on the way back line using an Atlantic Offshore Lures custom trolling bird/green maching combo.

We'll be out but will also be sharking so we won't be there long. I hate crowds. I can guarantee we won't be sharking near that mess.

I hear you Eric. I can't stand those crowds either that's why we called it a day early and came in for some fluke.

Yesterday morning was all bluefish when we were there. Got covered up twice and I finally pulled my gear. Several repairs to be made now

Wound up going 2 for 3 sbft on friday with blues and one bonito mixed in, and 3 for 3 sbft yesterday. All small between 26 1/2" - 35". Better early bite for us. Lots of F-ing bluefish, singles, doubles, triples then 5 at a time. Need repairs too. Last tuna was side hooked somehow, thought it was quite larger than the 35 it was. More life yesterday than friday except for a few miles north of coxes where there were a bunch of whales and a few sharks, saw Seeker there. Eric tried to hail you but couldn't understand the reply, maybe too close? Was the radio on hi?

Nice days out and im happy with the RDT stuff Ken sent. Of course with the sashimi too!

Yeh I heard you, Steve, I was wondering if we were getting out.....I'm sure it was on Hi, but still should've sounded fine, just clear. I dunno. I ended up getting good checks later on talking to Brad, etc.

I wondered of the SBFT bite was earlier than we got there. We blew a lot of time trying to get bluefish elsewhere.......slow bite......had I known how many GD blues there were on the troll, I could have gone there first!

No matter, I didn't want to waste time trolling either, we were after shark ultimately.

It's been an early bite mostly from 6 to 9 and by then I'm out of there. If you guys need some trolling gear repairs let me know I'll help you out.
