temp. satellite shot

I subscribed to "oceantemp" again this year for canyon satellite temp. service...It seems like weeks since they have had a decent shot of veach/atlantis canyons . Anyone doing any better with a different service? Rutgers seems to have better coverage and their site is free!.

I've noticed Rutgers hasn't had anything either and I think they just post the raw data.

Guys-

If there's ANY cloud cover, then they can not get a sat shot....even if it's nice here close to the shore...lots of times when the warmer waters (e.g. eddys) meet the cooler water, then you'll get localized fog or some local higer level cloud cover...... it's tough this time of year.

FYI, I have Offshore Satellite Service and there's been several days between shots recently....but it has not been weeks for sure....

i couldn't get a temp shot either on Sunday from ocean temp but when we got out to the fishing grounds on Sunday there were thick clouds from at least from the point to the canyons it looked liked. so i don't think its ocean temp is doing any thing wrong it really is cloudy out there.

No matter what temp service you get, they can't see thru clouds.

Yeah I realize that if there is cloud cover no service will work. However, oceantemp has 2 shots per day one around 8-9a.m. one at 7-8p.m for the NE Canyons. If there's cloud cover during those times when the their satellite (s) pass your out of luck.
Ruters on the other hand has multiple shots during the day (more satellites?) and my question should have been, "Does anyone use a private temp service that provides more than two fixed time shots during a 24 hour period"?
