Cool My Favourite Tip

Well I got my 10 post in one day --- quite remarkable being that I?m normally a quiet fellow however this is one tip (rule) that I have onboard which is ?you only can keep what you and your immediate family can eat not what your friends and neighbours can eat.

To increase your catch rate vary your spread until you find out what they want. Then switch over to that color and lure type throughout the spread.

When chunking and you hook up dont forget to continue the chunking while another memeber fights the fish. You want to keep them there in YOUR slick.

For those that have ever tried to put on a survival suit/ gumby suit know it can be a bitch with the neoprene catching your clothing. To get in a survival suit quickly and easily put trash bags in the legs which eliminates the friction and may well save your life.

When you hook up a single or double, and don't get the rest of the pack to jump on(especially them penguins), try casting toward the bow of the boat with a good jig and letting the jig fall back as you slow to fight the fish already hooked. This often results in a bonus fish.
With sbft, I have been able to keep the entire school with the first hooked football on the troll, and sometimes have even stayed on drift picking a way for a good while on the metals, because you can bring them up to the boat when they follow the first guy, and then get em feeding on the bait they were working to begin with as you shut down the boat and get them suicidal!!! The Po-Jee 2.5 ounce by Pt. Jude lures is killer for those sbft!!
Congratulations Capt Dom; This was the random thread number selected.

I would like to thank everyone who participated. After reviewing all of the threads, I realized that there is a wealth of great information posted in this thread. So, I figured it would be a good idea to distill this into several catagories and generate a "Tips & Tricks" section on our RDT Web Site and it would make a great section on NBS the Site ... Again, thanks to all and we appreciate the strong support we get from NBS which allows us to do these give-aways.
Tight lines and congratulations Capt Dom

Congrats Cap'n Dom! Thanks for sharing your knowledge too. Too often fishermen are overly tight lipped about fishing as if they shuld be the only ones catching.Guys like you come around once in a while and help others out,and guess what....there will be enough to go around for everybody and more people will have a good time because you shared. Ok ,that's as nice as I get ,let's go fishin. ~Joe
