| Well, here?s the fishing report for the Middle Keys?it blows?.literally, 20-35 out of the North and 7?-9? outside the reef. So I didn?t get offshore. Even Florida Bay was 2?-3?. I did get out with by buds at Capt. Hooks (www.captainhooks.com) to dive two inshore reefs and saw three moray?s, some hogfish, a small nurse shark, and the assorted other reef dwellers. I can?t count the number if times I was told ?should have been here last week? but that?s the way it goes. I did talk to some of the local captains and they said, even when the weather is good, the Keys are kind of in the lull. The winter fish are gone and summer fish are not there yet. There are a few kings just outside the reef and a sail here and their but nothing truly consistent. It was between 60 and 80 each day and that beats 12 degrees and snow and ice. | I'd take the wind and waves any time, the weather here stinks. | ||

The wind finally dropped below 20 knots for the first time in weeks. It is around 12 and it seems dead calm compared to what we have been having. A friend did go out last Sunday and although he was tossed about did get a nice catch of 20 to 30 pound dolfin about 10 miles out. Additionally on the plus side the water temp is 76.8 at the reef so we may get some lobsters before the season closes. | ||

| Well, that makes me feel a little better. It seems that every time I go down there, it was the weather was great ?last week? or calms down the day I fly out. At least I missed the good weather by a few weeks this time. Best of luck in the upcoming season! | ||
