4-11 Yellows and Wahoo's in Morehead City
I'm still in Morehead City, NC for a few more weeks before I head north... It has been blowing here like mad for like 6 weeks.... We had a weather window last Friday 4-11 so we took a run to the stream....

We fished 40 miles from Beaufort Inlet in Blue/Purpleish 77 deg water... On the way out we drove through 2 breaks the first was 61-68 deg the second was 68-77 deg...

We trolled 7 rods with Blue and Crystal seawitch/Ballyhoo combo's... And one planer rod with a #16 planer and a Green Skirt/ Horse Ballyhoo combo with a #9 wire leader....

We managed 6 Yellowfin 25-45 lbs... 2 Wahoo 25-35 lbs. on the Planer rod... and 5 SMALL Blackfin 5-10 lbs.... and 1 stinky Baccaruda

All in all a good day... We did get bit off a few times by Wahoo biting the mono rigs...

That Planer Rod has been renamed the "American Express Rod" dont leave the dock without it....

A few Planer Rod Victim's for ya...

Glad you got into the yellowfins. I was with John when you called last week. You're not missing anything up here. Cold water yet high 40s. Enjoy it down there as long as you can.
