NBS Year "Round" fishing/addiction

I know for some of you your fishing life stops shortly after Labor day. Not so here in fact, having been laid up with some injuries late summer to fall I am just gearing up. Along those lines I was out working around the house today and figured if I could clean gutters and windows I may as well clean up the mako and get ready for an upcoming striper tourney here in OCMD on 12/6. The snow was flurrying and I had the hose on the 200 evinrude running it for a few, swept out all the leaves and pine needles and proceeded to scrub up the inside for fit to fish appearence. I'm sure my neighbors think I'm wacked but you know fishing, it's an addiction! May just splash Sunday.

Made a few drifts at the inlet. no takers on bucktails, the boat runs good with a new fuel pump! 50 degrees tomorrow 12/14 may try it again. had a lot of runoff the last two days due to heavy rains and yesterday the inlet was brown. It was preetty amazing to veiw from shore with an east wind, outgoing tide plus the runoff affect. The water had the channel bouy laid completely over on it's side. I watched a 40'+ yacht running in and he had to really push it up just to make it in through the outgoing water. Incredably there was a guy in a small cc(19' or less) drifting along the parking lot side of the inlet. This looked dangerous to me with the water moving with that kind of power. He might have had a 90hp or less engine on that rig and he just barely could "make way" back inside! th water was moving with enough power to roll him over if he go
'side to " it. By himself he would swept out of the inlet well before anyone could have gotten to him! I don't think could get much action in water moving that fast and that murky!

Yep the Inlet can get pretty snotty. Not a spot to be on a bad day in a small boat. Coming down for New Years from Ct. Hoping for good weather, no fishing planned unless your offering. Good Luck

If it's half way decent I will probably fish 1/1/2009.Just put my new Md. state sticker on and received my 2009 HMS permit. Va. sent me a nice letter stating they where behind in getting out the 2009 Striper permits but i plan to check with them and md. DNR this week. Md. DNR to see if and when the 2009 Charterboat stickers will be available. Also at the end of this month my ORV permit for Assateaque Island(surf fishing). Give me a contact # Stormy and I can give you a call(always looking for company in the winter).

Reeldraggin, i have not heard any seabass reports and to be honest i have not been outside of the inlet for some time. Given a really good day i would work from little Gull south prmarily keeping the striper options open. sorry I don't have a better report but the weather has been not so great and here on a 60 degree day I'm at the full time gig!
