Hi All, long time no post.... My wife and I are planning a trip to Hawaii 1/24 - 2/6. Last year was a crappy year (Dad, Grandma, Godmother all died and cancer issues top and bottom for the wife) so were running away. I need some info. from those that have been, or live there now. We only have the plane tickets as of now. So all info is appreciated. Thanks in advance. Lynch Posted Via Mobile Device

| Sorry for your loss. Maui and Kuai are awesome. Try to stay at a Condo, they rent them all the time. You can save a few $$ by buying groceries for breakfast and lunches. Oahu is very commercialized, but, the Arizona at Pearl is very moving and there are a few very nice beaches up from the Waikiki area. If you get a chance, a helicopter ride is awesome! Goog luck, enjoy yourselves! | ||

| NBS Member | Thanks Guys. We've narrowed down the search to Kauai and Oahu. So any info on these two islands would help big time. We thought about hitting three islands, Maui being the third, but we want to relax and not pack unpack every three days. I'm hoping for a helicopter ride on Kauai.

Its been more than a few years since I went there but Oahu is basically a tropical New York City (no joke)... kind of fun but not quite what I think you want. Maui is very nice, tourist aspect but more scenic and laid back. I would not hesitate to hit a few of the islands if you have the budget and time. Oahu is good to start with and see Pearl Harbor and Diamond Head (nice beaches in an urban setting) - then see something more laid back. I did not hit the big island - where Kona is the sport fishing capital of the State. (its on my list of places to visit)... Condolences on the passing of your family members. | ||

| NBS Member | Thanks for the info all!!! Well we're off to the 50th state on Saturday. Can ya tell I'm excited! I'm still looking for any info you want to pass on. I've been looking around for fishing charters, etc. I'll be doing some salt fishing on Oahu and some fresh for peacock bass on Kauai. Any tips on bringing fishing equipment with ya on a trip?? I'm thinking of FedExing to the hotel. Thanks All, Joe | ||
