The weather has been hot and the seas very calm. It makes for a nice boat ride but most of our lures require a bit of chop to pop and smoke properly. Slow trolling dosen't keep me from catching fish. last Sunday I finished a custom stainless railing on my buddies boat and asked him if he would make a quick run down the southshore. We slammed a few beers and dragged around some aku lures but it was hot and muggy so we threw the hook and I hopped in the water with my spear gun. On my first drop down to about 40 ft. i saw this guy through the corner of my eye I used some old tricks to get him in close and blasted him right through the gills.I swam back to the boat drank more beer and when we got in this guy went straight from the cooler to the grill. its an omilu, some guys call it a yellow dot papio.its a member of the jack(trevally) fam. good eats. J | ||
