got out friday before the stronger north winds arrived. left dock @0730 with one guest onboard. headed to the mouth of the mystic to make bait. found the bunker & hickorys swimming together deep. snagged a dozen baits before heading to the south side. hard to leave the mystic since the medium bass were harassing the baits all around. once on the south side, in the lee of the north wind, we let the baits swim. the bass were passive & spent more time "playing" with the bait than eating. bass would slap, swirl, & chase the bait right out of the water! finally a few takers, all after the same dance. 2 @ 38" 1 @ 41" finished the trip toggin' the ebb tide inside fishers sound for a slow pick of small to medium keeper togs. fine mixed bag of fillets for my guest & myself. making some chowda on this chilly sunday looking to repeat the trip this week.......weather permitting. cheers!.......cap'n mick | ||

| Nice trip there Mick, the bass this time of year are getting odd, to say the least. You mention chowda...any recipes for fish chowda? | ||
