I blasted out of work early yesterday and met Scott and Jarred at my house for 4:30. We set out in search of some top water Bass action but were met with a stiff SE wind and a confused 2 foot Bay chop. Not what we were expecting.  So we cruised around the mid bay for a while trying to find some birds or any signs of busting fish. It wasn't meant to be so we ended up going back to an area off the North East end of Prudence Island where I had some luck this past Sunday and were able to troll up about 10 24-28" schoolies with umbrella rigs. Nothing big but some of them were very fat and covered with sea lice which is a good sign. Water was 57 degrees. Good Luck Everyone ALBATROSS | ||

| Way to save the trip  Something is better then nothing....great work.What's the deal with the lice? They all have them, or is it a result of the water/area they live in?

| The Sea lice indicate that these are migratory fish who have just taken up residency in the area and are not holdovers from the winter.  | ||

| Thanks for the update Albatross. We finally got the boat in and were hoping to head out this weekend to see what's around, assuming the weather cooperates. Did you run across any bunker?

| I didnt see any bunker last evening because of the sea conditions but heard that there were tons and tons of them in the providence river during the day yesterday with keeper size bass having their way with them.  | ||

| Great way to save the trip, Brian! I'll be having cocktails on the deck at the Squantum Club in EP in an hour, and every year when I'm there, I see guys bass fishing down below. I bet I see pogies too  Nice afternoon too!Been seeing them in the water while squidding Newport, and also been hearing them flipping there at night too.
