Talking 5/26, 5/27, & 5/28 BASS Report RI w/Pics

Been a long few last days......

Friday, 5/26:

After work ~ 3:30 PM, took off on Inheritance with my father, Mike, and Joe. Searched around, found a TON of pogies all over east of Prudence, very quickly had a bucketful.

Drifted chunks at MANY favorite spots, but no takers. Awesome awesome night tho weather wise, calm and warm! Back at the dock by 11 PM. In bed by 12:30 AM.

Saturday, 5/27:

(Have a wedding today at 4 PM over in Bristol.)

Up at 4 AM, at the ramp by 5. Launched Mike's boat Hole Shot.

Myself, Mike, Keith. Quickly found pogies all over south of Hope Island this time. Grabbed our fresh bait, plus still had iced ones from previous night.

Headed around Prudence, tried quick at Sandy Point, and shot up the bay towards Barrington Beach.

First drift, we hooked up on a nice keeper bass. Cracked a beer (in honor of the groom who wasn't with us ) Made the same drift over and over and brought the tally to 6 nice keepers to 38" in the box. Mike had the first 2 and seemed like he was the hot one, then I pulled the next 4 in.

Bite turned off by 11 AM, back at the ramp by 11:30-12, boat out and rinsed, fish all cleaned and iced, head home, take a 45 minute half-assed cat nap and a cold shower to wake up, head over to Bristol, make it exactly at 4 PM lol.

Left wedding at 11 PM, home by midnite half-lit, in bed by 12:30 LOLOL.

Sunday, 5/28:

Up at 4 AM with a hangover, another cold shower & 2 Advil Liquigels, at the boat (Inheritance again) by 5, headed out.

Myself, my father, and Mike.

Found some very spotty pogies but caught none south of Hope. A little breeze this AM.

Headed up to Greenwich Bay, and quickly found a ton of pogies all over, and caught plenty of fresh bait (plus the ones iced from 2 prior trips LOL).

Headed over to yesterday's spot, slightly different drift, but first drift we picked up our first 32" keeper.

Drift kept changing due to the variable light wind with tide. A bit challenging keeping the boat drifting nice, and at one point was at a dead stop so i power drifted the baits until the breeze picked up again.

Tally for the morning was 4 nice keepers to 38" again. Some nice fat ones too. (I think my father got most of the fish today. I lost 2, 1 undersized at the boat pulled hook, and i think I landed one of the keepers.)

Headed down the bay, tried under a school of pogies outside Allen's Harbor but all blues playing chop-chop....left there quickly.

Took a swing in front of my father's house, and headed back. Cleaned up, cleaned and iced the fish, and headed home to try to get a couple things done around the house (AND TO CLEAN THE POGIE JUICE OUT OF THE BACK OF MY 'BURB THAT SLOSHED OUT OF THE DAMN COOLER )

Monday, Today:

Slept in till 8 this AM lol.

Going out for a ride on Inheritance today (with a couple poles of course ) and then cooking out at my father's on the water. Maybe I'll plant my vegetable garden when I get off my azz and turn this off LOL.

Here's a couple pics from yesterday of my father with one of our (and his) first fish I think. The other days I forgot my damned camera

How does your father like those crocs? I've heard they are the most comfortable shoe around but just can't bring myself to putting them on my feet. I guess it is function over form. My kids have them and love them.

BTW, an update to today's ride on the boat......

Got my nephew (& godson) his first Bass today!

I'll put up a report once I get the pics, but found 'em in Wickford Harbor and grabbed a nice little schoolie on the first cast with a crippled herring
