7-16 Ran to the East

I was able to fish with Philly Doug this morning. He ended up staying another day in CT due to not feeling well enough to drive home yesterday.
This morning I got him up early to get the whole experance. We met at 4 am and ran into the River for some bunker. They are thinning out and I had to go into the "Boat at your own risk zone to get them" Doug had never gill netted before so I showed him the ropes.
It took 2 sets and we had 40 in the live well and about 70 in the cooler.
I called chuckA on the phone at 4:30 (woke him up) and told him I got enough and he didnt have to run to NH. We ran east to a hot spot that a friend fished on friday and killed them. It took us a few drifts to find the fish but once we did there was action on every drift. We took 3 bass up to 32 pounds and 30-40 blues from 8 to 15 pounds. The blue were so thick they were hitting the baits on the way down.It was a great morning filled with laughs. That Chuck A is a funny guy with a big fish on. we had to stop and watch him land it.
As always it was a great pleasure to fish with Philly Doug. He has learned alot in the past month and is doing great with Bass.
We left them biting at 11 am and made long run home with 13 bunker left.
