| HERES SOME REPORT DETAILS Headed out to a spot that has been producing petty well for us all year. Well this day was not just good, it was on fire. Hooked up to fish on every drift. Has some doubles and even a triple for a little while. It was pandamonium on board. The net saw lots of action as we had numerous fish from 36-42 inches. Filled the cooler with our limit in an hour or so and headed out to try some fluking. Drifted for 2 hours looking for fluke and nothing. A few sea bass and large porgy's save the day for bottom fishing. But man did we get our fill with the stipers. |

| SEPTEMBER WAS GOOD IN PAST YEARS. Yet I have seen a trend of the Bluefish getting more and more abundant , thus more aggressive, overshadowing the bass. 3 yrs ago, in a certain area, we were slaying 40 pounders, and not somany Blues. Yet this year, take this morning for instance. we couldn't get the bait to the bottom...and the blues were all over it. When the blues slowed for a short time during slack current, we did mange to pick up 4 bass, although they were small(15-20"), they fought like champs. i believe the bass will continue to get more and more agressive to compete better with the voracious bluefish. (kind of a "survival of the fittest" theory) that is why when they have the chance to feed when the blues instinctively relax during slower water, the bass are still in agressive mode. Good theory huh? pretty cool video of friends acting like 13 year olds!!! |
