After no tuna on stellwagen on Friday, even though bait & whales were everywhere, I decided to go bass fishing this weekend. Headed out early Saturday looking for pogies and found more than you could have asked for. The only question was which school to chase. Everything was off Deer Island heading out into the channels. Started filling the live well when I snagged one and half way in the line starts peeling off the reel. Nice 40" @ 25lb bass. Got chased in by T-storms. Went back out Sunday and same story. Pogies everywhere. Only problem was every other pogie was half a pogie by the time it got to the boat. BLUEFISH ![]() Filled the livewell and anchored off deer island. Through out a couple pogies and then one started dancing. Leaped about 2-3 feet out of the water a couple times before it was engulfed. Another 25-30 lb fish. Landed one more before the waters turned into a free way. Not much respect when your anchored well out of the channel live lining bait and boats fly by wide open about 20 yards from you Oh well...boston is the same whether in a car or boat![]() | ||
