Lobstah BASSIN' Memorial Day Weekend on Inheritance w/PICS!

Sorry for the late reports....been busy as a one-armed paper-hanger lately.

SATURDAY

My father and I and 2 of my work colleaugues headed out of Allens harbor at 5:00 AM in search of pogies. Long story short, we wound up just north of the Washington Bridge, where they were very thick, although not jumping. Purely had to find them by fishfinder. Lots of yahoos up there mixed in though, which made it tough to snag. Got a half-bucket quickly tho.

Tried a couple drifts in the area just south of the I-Way bridge and near the sunken Juliett sub. Nothing. Saw one schoolie taken, which never got thrown back

Steve (Maille Marine) came by in his Formula.

Headed south, as we had many other spots we wanted to try.

This was our first fishing trip on Inheritance, so we were "cold" LOL.

Tried a few other usual spots to no avail. Talked to Chris (Rover74) several times and he let us know where he picked a few up early AM when we were up river. (Thanks again for the intel Chris! Works both ways!)

We went there and marked fish like a bas-turd, but nothing would hit. Right after the tide change, tho, all hell broke loose, and we quickly limited out with 8 nice fish.....3 in the 29"-32" range, and the other 5 in the 40"-43" range. This saved the day, as I kept telling our guests to be patient LOL. They were glad they were and had an awesome day!

Look at the smiling faces!

MONDAY

This day, my father and I went out ourselves. We left again at 5:00 AM and this time went deep inside Greenwich Bay to get only a half-dozen pogies, but plenty for just the 2 of us.

Fished a similar area to Saturday, but wound up working further north due to a hunch I had, considering the tide.

George (GP-TJ) came by right before the action (figures, that's always the way, right??)

Started off slow, but wound up with some great action in a short time, boating 3 ~36" stripers in a quick 15 minutes

After that, the bite got more picky. My father had a few on that he lost, and I even had them following my bait up to the boat when I'd clear my line for him to fight a fish. Also had a bluefish that was lost to the leader, and a couple bluefish bites on the baits.

Wind kicked up bad around 11:15, but it's just the bay. We were done and heading in anyway by 11:45. Had other stuff to do LOL.

STARTED THE SEASON OFF WITH 2 GREAT TRIPS IN A ROW!

Great way to start off the season. Not quite as good as last year but it's still early, especially since Memorial Day was a week earlier this year than last. Already looking forward to getting out there again this weekend

Great Report and pics Eric. Some quality Bass there. I fished out of Falmouth this past weekend and probably should have fished in Narr. Bay instead. Oh well, hopefully I will see you guys out there this weekend. Great to see your dad back on the fish Good Luck!!

And you have to show me pictures too...

I really didn't want to be out there all day. Got back to the dock at just before 1100 and was home by 1200. I'm going out again tomorrow in the morning to see what I can do. Working this weekend!@#$
