Had Matt and Chuck Moon AKA stress reeliever and ***************, for some fun, sun, and big bass..... We had originally planned on heading offshore, but with the non existant bft bite and slower sharking of late, coupled with a snotty sea from yesterdays blow, we opted to stay inshore. My day started off with a popped trailer tire, and a crappy cup of cumberland farms coffee. After a not so quick change(tire and first 3 lugs went on great...) I was back on track, in the water, and surprisingly only 30 minutes late..... I don't want to say any more, as I'm sure the guys will post something. Lets just say Chuck tried besting a VERY big fish with a ridiculously small rod and 12 pound test, and damn near succeeded, and the day ended with a double mounting of two big girls.... the guys took some good pics, I'm sure they will share...I do want to thank the guys for a very fun day, and some killer chow for lunch.

Well it certainly did suck that we could not get off shore and that the bite sucked but wince we were all up in Newport Capt. Dom took care of us with some inshore bass fishing on the sweet Contender with the twin Mercs. This boat moved along very nicely and was riged perfectly for the fishing we were doing. The day certainly started off slow as we had to wait for bait for a pretty long time and by the time we got it we were pretty far and land and had to get back outside for bassin. Top that with the big swell we met when we came out of Newport and it certainly seemed like the day was going to suck. So Dom moved us around to find some fish and after a few spots we dropped the Pogies in on wire for a slow troll. The crew had never seen this method before and were all pretty surprised by the results. Total tally for the day was 8 bass. Smallest was around 16 lbs and the largest weighed in was 38 lbs. All fish were long in size but a tad skinny. Was a nice day. Topped off the day at the dock with a dual mount. ![]() Here is a crew PIC ![]() Thanks Dom. We will try the of shoe trip some time in Late August.

| Well I was dissapointed that we could not go off shore, but it was 9pm and we wrere at the bar after checking in to the hotel, when i get the call the offshore was nixed, and the capt offered to stripe bass fish...OH GOODY , I GET TO GO STRIPED BASS FISHING ![]() in the metal bottle , and a shot of jim beam.....and another, another, ok on to absolute and soda,...ok on to absolute and ice......on to "wjhat do you mean it's last call????, gimme a double.fat, sleepless and hungover is no way to ride in 6-8 footers at 50 knots .......We, surprisingly, never knew how to troll live bunker. It has been something i have always wanted to try, and learn. We tried both with wire, and actually taught Capt Dom a branford trick with braid. The deal on losing the biggie on light tackle...I as stated b4 was HUNG over.....to say the least. so when we were in place for 3 waying i saw doms gear, and said..."gimme something lighter" all he had on was a little boys fluke stick......I said ok that'll do........I got a hit, and let hin go, and at the proper time i slammed it home game on .....Dom, I guess realized that we light tackle fish the way it was handled.........I fought it goo for a 5-10 minutes, with the current and drift i was heading toward them bigass twins.........i hear the engine gettin raised, thinking to myself...oh man he's gonna cause a direction change and pop me loose by lifting them enginesi say nothing ..............POP.....NICE GOING CAPTAIN...lol(it's always the captains fault, that's what i'm sticking to) | ||

I'm not sure, but if the boat's home port is out of state, then the mount is an un-official mount and not eligible for releasing the angler of his virgin status. Please correct me if I'm wrong.
