Cold Weather Fishing Gloves

After the bitter cold Sat. AM Tog trip, I've realized I need a better glove for cold weather fishing. Any recommendations?

Problem is that gloves warm enough for sub freezing temps are so bulky you can't fish with them. Also, they"ve got to be waterproof. We used to hunt waterfowl on LIS in Jan and Feb. We wore playtex dishwashing gloves to set and pull decoys---if your hands stay dry they will warm up quickly. While waiting for ducks we wore heavy mittens with slits through which you could put your fingers to shoot. We always brought several pairs. Now for fall angling I bring several pairs of cheap 99 cent cotton gloves and throw them away if they get wet or slimy. If it's too cold for that, the season is over. Try a hunting outfitter like Cabela's or LL Bean for sub zero gloves.

I won't fish with gloves. No gloves or no fishing LOL.

I use my Grundens (inside my bibs) to warm my hands when they get cold.

Just a thing.....never been able to fish with gloves.

Nothing to do with feeling "manly" LOL....but everything to do with not having my fingers actually on the line and feeling everything.

I know I'm not the only one.....lots of guys I know are like that.

Some of them have found gloves with half-fingers that are supposedly decent and offer a compromise.....or gloves with all fingers but your index and thumb, etc.....other guys are just like me and stick it out LOL.....

74, I know what you mean. I had gloves on Sat. and ended up pulling them off on occassion. You get a much better feel with your bare hands............especially with a light hit on braided line
