Hi Jim,

Great!!! Thank you.

Help me out. I might even need a pic. What are custom rod riggers?

My guess would be rod holders?

Neil, these are often used for slow trolling various baits for any fish that'll take that bait. It allows you to get your line out away from the boat more at a near right angle. Stripers are commonly targeted with the T&W like this, aloing with multitudes of others that hit the troll.

We are fighting for the right to fish!!!

Hi folks,

I have some updated news for you.

1. www.unitedboatmennewyork.com this site is now set up to handle clicks for all of us in the North East. Go and click on Mayday Mayday

Follow the simple directions and 6 emails will be sent to the proper representatives based on your zip code.

Have your spouse children, relatives, friends and associates send in these electronic emails.

The ubny site has generated over 10,000 responses from anglers etc to date. Keep pouring it on, even inland.

2. I attened a RFA (Recreational Fishing Alliance) meeting this week to sell the raffle tickets. About $270 in sales but more importantly I joined the RFA!

I saw members of surf clubs, boatsmens associations. Marine Trade Assoc., NY Fishing Tackle Trade Assoc, fishing clubs and indiviauals representated. The Executive Director of the RFA spoke to and with all of us. I was impressed. Everyone was on the same page.

I asked if there were plans to have a Connecticut Chapter of the RFA. He said Yes. They are looking for the right people to get the organization off the ground. So keep your eyes and ears open folks. It goes much deeper than my few sentences.

3. Today I took all the checks/monies received to the United Boatmen rep. Thanks to folks from NY, NJ and NH the sum was $6055!!! AND we still have till Sept 30 to write the check and place it in the mail.

Make check out to United Boatmen of New York.

Mail to Capt Neil Faulkner

Don't worry about it going to NY. All this work is being done by organizations in different States. It is to help ALL of US!!! This is an East Coast problem and affects both the recreational as well as the commercial fishermen. SHUT DOWN, NO SEASON means just that!

4. To see a list of all the fantastic donated prizes please go to www.noreast.com

Place cursor on bar that has the word INTERACTIVE just to the right of center page. This bar is about 1-2" below the top of the page.

Now a menu will show. Click on the word DISCUSSIONS. This will bring up the Forums menu.

Click on the General Fishing Forum. This will bring up the threads. The sticky threads contain all the info about the raffle and other related items.

5. For a detailed description about the fluke problem please go to

www.mels-place.com

click on the rectangle at bottom of page.

Then read to your hearts delight. This is written in a concise understandable way. If this does not light your afterburners about fighting first for a meaningful fluke season next year and secondly for OUR RIGHT TO FISH I don't know what will.

Till next time.

Sept 12'06 the last day of fluke season in NY.

Hi guys,

Well the fluke season is over in NY waters as of today. Man, that stinks! I can remember fluking in the middle of Novenber out in the ocean when the Fall was very warm.

The fish I love to chase the most! What will next seaason be like? I don't know if Heaven knows. Rest assured fellows, we are in the fight of our lives to keep our right to fluke. Don't rest on this issue and say I'll let others do the work. This is a Fererak Issue and affects all of us along the East Coast that have a fluke fishery.
