NBS The final Popeye report July 11th

My partner paully aka akmad was very upset last night with some of the replies of my yesterday post. First of all , my reports are very accurate and the sizes of the fish are very accurate. What upset paul, was the fact all you guys from the Newhaven and Branford area wanted to jump on the Clinton band wagon. For the last six weeks when the fishing was good in your area the boys from Clinton did not invade your area. We did not send an armada of boats to North reef, crooked s, garrison, browns reef, branford beacon, townsend ledge, New haven harbor. Let me give you some advise I fished your waters for 25 years. My boat was docked at the Greeks on front street. With the price of fuel and the small window you have to catch those quality fish work your areas that you know. The fish this time of year are sometimes on the backside of the reefs in deep water. Most ot the biggest fish that I have taken have been in 70 to80 feetof water. As far as were we fish, are areas are from Madison to Old saybrook. For my final report myself Akmad, Allyn, captain mike fished the castle and took seven bass to 30lbs.

Popeye, you and Paully should chill out and go fishing. We were busting balls on youz guyz.

So what if a couple of boats came up there anyway. It's only fishing. It's not like it's a life or death situation. Nothing worth crying over.

Thanks for the report, look forward to reading more.

John
I dont see where I posted "see you in the AM" bashing your post. all of us guys down here fish together. We all have a good time and we all catch fish. On the water we all share bait. Only new haven has had bait the last couple of weeks and I have helped the branford guys out durning that time. They have also done the same for me in the past. If I remember correctly I have even offered you bunker in a PM. As far as your Partner being pissed off about us wanting to "Jump on the Clinton bandwagon"
I dont see what the problem is with us wanting to fish differant waters.
Also about a month ago Tarra Anne contacted a couple of the Branford guys on where they were fishing. I guess that was Ok since he was the one wanting the info.
Nobody whats your GPS numbers or your honey hole and nobody would post the humps that we caught fish on. I do have friends with boats in clinton and I have been out there this year. We caught fish and I didnt write a spot burning report.
One thing I will not do is go thru the same crap that I did 3 years ago.
I am not going to be told where I can fish. That is total BS.
My trips out your way are few and far between but I do go. If I didnt get hung up this morning with an inspection I would have been there.
I do hope you continue to post reports. It is a fact that you catch Big fish and I do enjoy reading them.

Popeye and company.

Let's all chill. The ol' "Branford Boys" were simply bustin' chops. LIS is a great body of water to fish, for all of us up here in the area. The bait scenario has been a bugger for some (you should try out in Eastern LIS, there's only very isolated loose pods).

Your reports are good, and let us know they are out there. Chuck and Pat both are as hardcore as you are, and we all need to be able to share info and the water, sensibly. Spot burning should never happen, and I am perfectly fine with the spot X references. Details on temp, tide, depth, drift, wind, etc... are real helpful, as they do help the guys looking for info to help them be as successful as you guys are (including me).
