Hooked Inheritance BASS 6-3-07 Narr. Bay (w/PICS!)

3 of us today....my father, and my friend Joe and myself.

Left same time as the day before, got pogies outside the mouth of Greenwich Bay, and got to our spot a little earlier (~6AM).

Quickly nailed 6 nice fat bass 32" to 39" in 2 very short drifts, then the bite stopped. When the bite stopped, also stopped marking ANYTHING on the FF. The tide hadn't even dropped out....it was weird, but it happens.

Saw Pete again and they nailed several during this early morning bite too, and had it drop out. Glad we got out there early!!!!!!!!

We ended up scouting around, and making a couple of drifts closer to Barrington Beach. Ended up back at our first drift (& first spot in the massive fleet today LOL) after 45 minutes or so of scouting.

The tide had dropped out by now and nobody was doing much, save for one guy anchored that was hammering them.....they were doing quite well

Then our turn came and we turned on again (or, I should say my father did LOL, because I think he caught most of the next group LOL).

We pulled another 6 Bass, again to 39"

Honestly, not many boats (except the guy anchored and a few other scattered ones) were doing anything, all I can think is we had the right presentation for the conditions. At least I'd like to think so LOL

Final tally was 12 keepers to 39" landed, with our limit kept, and 4 more lost.

can i ask how do you present your live pogies?

we have been doing them with single circle hooks and no weights and just letting them swim around.

we are new at this and i'm wondering if we would do better with weights and getting them down lower.

thanks!

glad to hear the bite turned on again for you guys. We thought we would try for a few more live ones, which we didn't find, and called it a day a little to early. Oh well, we enjoyed our time fishin the bay, great bite!!

Well, Saturday was definitely worth your while! Sunday was definitely not the same bite there, but then again it was a different day LOL......

The afternoon and evening blow Saturday may have had something to do with it (or not). I know it changed the BI bass bite, according to a friend of mine that chartered both days out there.

DionM, we were not fishing live pogies either day, we were drifting chunks......

They were taking both live and chunks, and also a few guys trolling those nasty umbrellas around were getting some (but they also seemed to be getting a lot of blues mixed in [typical of umbrellas]).
