Lord's Point Fishing Report | | Last two times out for togs zippo. Apparently, as they do every year when water temperature drops below a certain point, they move out of the shallows into deeper and warmer water. Very few boats out Saturday. No one was fishing the shallow rock piles in close but me with nothing to show for it. The commerical scup season had finally opened today, but even the reliable scup have moved further offshore. What was particularly troublesome is even the smaller togs have moved further out. Still plenty of undersized Black Sea Bass but nothing even close to being a keeper. Talked with a solitary gent fishing by himself at White Rock; he had caught nothing there. He did manage two keepers at the Stonington breakwater but that was it. At a distance, saw four or five boats fishing the red nun east of the Latimer Lighthouse but do not have a clue as how they were making out. It had been a fabulous October for togs in close. Have no desire to chase them into NY waters so am planning to pick up my gear for the season. Probably will make one or two more trips for clams and to haul in my lobster pots. Should anyone need around 1000 green crabs shoot me an email and you can have them, just bring something to put them in.
