This December ('06) was the warmest December ever on record in RI......

7 degrees above normal average, and 1 degree average over the previous record.......

Tony, What are you seeing for water temperatures? Seems it's still very warm for this time of year.

Yeh, no kidding Bob!

At the Penguin Plunge in Mackerel Cove, Jamestown (open to ocean) the water temp was around 47!

Looking back at my log for last year. We caught blackfish in the spring with much colder temps than we are seeing now. At this rate the sound will hit 70 by June.

Sea Bass

Tony, on those sea bass trips how long is the ride to the fishing grounds & the approximate fishing time ? Myself & "Black Fish Chuck" may be interested in the Feb 8th trip !

Travel time

Depending on the area we fish the travel anywhere from 4 to 6 hours fishing time is between 6 and 8hr give or take

Water Temps

Local temps are still high 48 to 50 degrees

yes its on the warm side for jan

Sea Bass Success

Tone, have you guys been succeful with em in the past ? What size range ? (I know every trip will be different from the last..just trying to get a feel for the action).
