Had a nice day yesterday off Block. Great weather and five friends who wanted to give stripers a try. We left Watch Hill Boatyard at the leisurely hour of 9 a.m. and headed for the SW corner. Snapping wire with jigs and trolling large tubes would only turn bluefish. These guys were having fun, but that's not what we were after. I switched to umbrella rigs with small tubes, and that was the ticket. We quickly picked up half a dozen bass to 40". Black and green were the colors that produced. Great day on the water.
