May 15, 4 fish, 20.5". If you limit out you have enough meat to feed most of the Sudan.

Thank you to the folks at the Pew Charitable Trust for high gas prices and higher probability of an empty cooler.

It kills me. The biggest fish in our area used to be caught in Sept. and Oct. At that time of year the numbe of people fishing drops severly and becomes a weekend activity yet the so called manages count the same people fishing on the weekends as weekdays. There is no common sense is fisheries management anymore. Each spiecies is managed like its the only thing that lives in the sea. There is no consideration of the food chain. As for poaching thats great, except that you cant enter the fish in any contests or post pics of it. That leaves my trophy hunting out.

To elaborate on demon's response. In late July and August the flukin' becomes real difficult. Warm, dirty water and lots of boat traffic. Throw in a couple of thunderstorms and you have all the ingredients for a solid no fish cha cha. So in reality the NY season is really only 2 productive months and if the weather stays warm you better hit 'em early.

We have picked up some nice last September and October when targeting Sea Bass in deep holes loaded with structure.
