Opening day Blackfish

Well friday was opening day and a bunch of us got together and fished the Clinton area.
Water temp: 67 deg. f.
Tide: last couple hours incoming thru first two outgoing
Bait: Crabs, asians and green
Water: pretty flat not much wind

Was beautiful weather and great to feel Tog-tugs again

We caught 13 fish total, not a slammer day but seeing the water
is still warm where we fished, not bad.
Fish up to 9lbs.
Great way to start the season with good friends and weather.

Anyone else get out?

Good report...I was in Baltimore all weekend but last weekend Jim, Roy, and I fished some of "my local" grounds and produced about 2 dozen blacks, mostly small, and probably lost as many. The ones we lost were likely much larger.......we fished some "extremely aggressive" structure to say the least and it was very challenging on hookup! They "won" many times!

Good sign of the cooler water to come tho! We had 70 degree water where we were.

Great picture!!!

We just started blackfishing last fall and were amazed at how hard these togs tug

I love it!

Also have had many dicussions with fish on my hook that buried themselves wedged in the rocks. Sometimes they listen and come out peaceably, sometimes they don't ;)
