Pat, thanks for the info. I'm going to try this weekend. Is is best to drift parallel to the walls or along the channel, like going from the sound into the harbor and what tides are best, incoming, outgoing, etc. ?

Also, I'm going to try using raw bacon strips instead of squid. I just recently heard of it, maybe from this board, but it looks like squid and smells better and gives off nice oils. Don't know how durable it will be, but it's worth a shot.

If you want to try something for really big fluke get some fresh bunker or shad. Filet the whole side off and cut it down the middle lengthwise. Take that whole strip and put it on a double hook teaser rig one hook high and one low. I use a 4 oz. bucktail off a short length of mono on one leg of a three way swivel and the two hook teaser off the other leg. On the bucktail put another strip that is left over from the split filet. I have increased my keeper ratio 10 fold this season using this setup. Big bait big fish.

Albie, sounds good, thanks. What about using porgy filets since bunker and shad are hard to come by these days?

Inner Reef is north of Wheaton's. Watch out---skinny water! For fluke, the key for me is a strip of fluke belly combo'd with a shiner or killy. Fresh belly is indestructible and unbeatable. It's what we catch 100's on off Point Judith. In this area, fluke can be had way out in front of Hammonasset Beach in 60 - 70 feet of water.

pretty much as long as you are moving you will catch. Hang pretty tight to the channel.the green side
I been hitting them pretty much on the edge of the channel alittle inside of the wall. once you find them just keep repeating the drift.
i havent even used squid. it just wasnt produceing for me. i put 5 or 6 shiners on the rig and fish that way. remember grenn and pink has been the hot colors
