Well headed out of Stratford at 5:00am with my wife and youngest son. Got to our spot and first drop all three of us hooked up with shorts 16" - 18". Dropped again and 2 searobins 1 17 1/2" short. All in all we had 25 short fluke, 15 searobins and 2 keepers at 24" and 26 1/2".... My name from being the fluke king just went in the toilet, because the wife caught both keepers. I was high hook and my son was second high hook. But, that doesnt count when you cant take em home. We ran out of bait and decided to anchor, have lunch, and take a dip. On the way in(5:00pm) the wife says hey we got 2 eels on ice, why don't we sling a few into the rocks? I said ya so you can now be striper queen too? Guess what? her first cast and bam bam bam bam bam and fish on!!! 31" fat boy. She out did me again.....I am surprised she didnt bitch about breaking a nail, and of course wears her desinger crap when we go fishing and dosent get a spot of blood or guts on her. All in all a great day!! We had action all day (even though they were mostly shorts) it kept us busy and lots of fun. We were heading out yesterday and turned back due to the weather, so tonight is a rematch. Ill get her one of these days. She is a good luck charm on our boat. ![]() tight lines | ||

| Oh ya! My son wasn't bored for one second. I'll tell ya, I couldnt believe the amount of searobins and the size of them. We lost a lot of fish I had one that was on the surface ready to net when it spit the hook. It was definetly over 20"... I was using the only rubber squid with a chub and squid strip. Well, the rubber skirt was too low on the hook and keeping me from making a good set on the fish as to where I was loosing them on the top and spitting the hook. Once I fixed the skirt I made every hook up, but they were all short. The wife is still ribbin me this morning. She just called to ask if I was ready to take the fluke queen on after work and to make sure i come with my "A" game. I told her the new rule on the boat is when I am out fished, that person has to buy the bait and beer for the next trip, and she has to bait all the hooks. | ||

| I ended up getting out of work late yesterday, so the flukin was called off and we went stiper/blue fishing. We hit the marsh in Stratford and NADA ZERO ZIP!! Soaked live bunker for 4 hours without a crab, bite, or snag! UNTIL we decide to head in and the wife goes to reel in. Bang fish on and then fish gone! It seems all the rain affected the fishing in the river. I have been doing well on the blues and stipers in the river for the last few months. So much for wifey being a good luck charm. But, again she had to come at me this morning and say at least I had a hook up. I said ya and lost it just as quick! | ||
