Saturdays contest........

Capt Matt and myself dontaed up charters this past winter to a mutual dear friend's bachelor party....it was a 2 boat trip for 6 guys.......don't ya figure 88sportcraft was able to work his way in the trip!

Well the contest was supposed to be a 2 part contest....Biggest Striper, and part 2 was most stripers.....

We quickly popped a nice bass of approx 35 inches...due to slow bassin conditions, and the onslaught of marauding Bluefish...That fish held the leader board for both parts......Over on the stress releiver....they "supposedly" catch a bass to tie the quantity portion of the game.....They had no fish on board though.....it wasa schoolie????? My team....unknowing of the warnings about making bets with Stress Reliever.......start asking me " what's he gonna do start welching?" I should have warned them!

We split up into different areas for about an hour or so.....we locked and loaded bluefish...the boat got a good blood bath. The stress reeliever was also into blues and had a bloody time as well, ....we met up at a designated spot for the last hour of fishing......we did nothing in this spot while the Stress Reeliever crew put on board 2 bass of 28 and 29 inches.....

Now it's 20 monutes to the final buzzer...and i pull out the trolling gear and we start to troll the last 18 minutes, snapping a chute and draggin a swimming lure, immediately The stress crew is calling us cheaters!!!!! LOL on snapping the chute we get a fish hooked....I figure we got the tying fish......(they claimed to have been up 3 to 1...odd with only 2 keepers on board.) well from snapping the chute we got a FLUKE 20" keeper......a nifty bonus for table fare!

Seriously though, we had a great time of ball bustin, we anchored up in branford harbor, rafted together, and had a bout a 1 hour little party and mini awards ceremony......man them guys could drink!!!!!! we filled up an entire barbage bag full of empty cans!!!!! the final tally was The Full Moon crew one the trophy(ketel one) and the Dawn Patrol team took home the cash prizecountless blue fish, 3 (or 4...depending how toy look at it) striped bass, and one lonely FLUKE.
here attached is a picture of the "ketel One winning fish" caught by MIKEY JOE

I am sure we will be doing more of this kind of thing in the future. I was a lot of fun. Too bad the bass action was so slow on Satruday. We did get a call from Sashimi letting us know where he was and that he was doing well but by the time we got there it was all blues.

Great time though, and as Chuck said, there was a lot of beer consumed.

Of course it did. They weighed it with Chucks scale and we all know how accurate that is.
