Does anyone know what the resoning is for the 3 week closure? Are the fish spawning? I thought that was why they closed the season in the spring.

I've asked this question many times and it seems they don't really know.

I'm curious also about such disparity between NY and CT regs when we are all fishing the sound for pretty much the same fish.

Carl,

I saw your boat this morning and I figure that is about how long it is going to be for your boat to leave the dock again and thought the reason might be that it is because the Tog season is closed. How stupid of me to thing there was a good reason for your boat to just sit there. Won't make that mistake again.

I think the two weeks are for Tog travel time. Its a busy travel season for them and they need time to get from the deep water to my rock piles. At least that is what the 8lb white chinned tog told me last year.

And thats
