Slammin' the Fluke @ Point Judith 5/26 PICS ADDED

Well I made the LOOOONG ride from Great Island ramp to the breakwall. Whew, that was long, and burned a ton of fuel....

Oh wait, actually the longest leg was picking up another guy at Conti's, having to go around the sandbar by Jim's Dock LOL. And then having to drop him off after

Anyway, we started fishing yesterday at 2PM in Pea Soup fog. Right away a nice 22" fish by the rookie that had never caught a fluke before LOL. And then another 19"-er. And a whole bunch of shorts and "JUST" shorts, and a couple more keepers 18"+.

Calm calm conditions, almost no wind to no wind the whole time. Everybody left when the bite soon slowed. We stayed alone. Bite picked up as soon as it started raining lightly, slight breeze. Bite was hot and heavy, pulled over a couple more nice fish to 25", a bunch more shorts.

Fished to 6:30/7:00, and wrapped it up.

Ended the day with 9 nice keepers, probably 40 fish overall. We had a GOOD keeper-to-throwback ratio I think, based on previous reports! Bait made a BIG difference yesterday, we found. Though the bite was on most of the day, they were VERY picky, and were robbers as well. But we took care of that.

All in all a great afternoon. Played with a few ferrys in the pea soup, and a REAL ignorant BLOWBOATER (how many of them aren't????) in a huge catamaran that came within "Grey-Poupon-passing-distance" of us amongst the group of boats.

Here's the pics I took this AM. We iced 'em down last night....it was late.

15# of fillets.
