Stelwagen on Saturday

Hey guys,

I got a bachelor party trip out to the bank on saturday. Anyone getting any haddock or pollack to speak of? If so bait or jigs and any teasers working above the jigs. Trying to say farewell to a friend on a high note and fill his freezer with a last taste of home before he follows some tail to the windy city! I know we can only keep 2 cod each so we're targeting haddock and pollack. Thanks

no cod on stellwagen

State Waters

Armand,

I am sure you caught those cod in state waters on the way in by the ledges. It is illigal for recreational anglers to posses cod in the GOM in federal waters.

http://www.nero.noaa.gov/nero/regs/i...arterParty.pdf

Recreational and charter/party vessels may not possess or retain any cod from the GOM RMA from November 1 through March 31. (Cod caught outside of the GOM RMA may be on board a vessel transiting the area, but only if all bait and hooks are removed from fishing rods and all cod on board has been gutted and stored.)

Congrats on a great fish, talk to you later.

Dave

I would try both bait and jigs with white grub teasers and see which works better. Haddock should like bait better but will go after the jig. Good luck

Charter and Party boats are not allowed the two codfish per person in state waters. Good luck on your trip and I hope you knock them dead on the haddock and pollock.
