todays guests were still "fat" with last weeks striper fillets & elected for a fluke outing to replenish their freezer stock. i suggested that the flattie action is hit or miss and may be slow. started with a few drifts south of fishers with only a bluefish for the efforts. throttled up the ficht for a quick run to the east. found a slow but steady pick of squid gourged fluke in the 50' depth zone. three guys put 14 keepers in the box. all fish 19 to 22".....no heftys! also no pest fish, no skates. no dogs.. a few rigs cut off at the spinner blade by unknown toothy creatures .the first toothy critter that was in the box was excellent strip bait for the day! boys too tired to wait & set hook for the afternoon tide @ the reefs (i was willing) so we headed back to mystic for the chores & cleanup @ 1400hrs | ||
