| Spent the day flukin' in Vineyard Sound with Seaker on a friends boat. The strong N-NE winds made of a generally lumpy day. We were using local typical bucktail and teaser rigs tipped with squid (whole or strips). Started at the half moon shoal near Nobska, down to the sand hills off Quicks', the 31 can and Nomans. Picking up a couple here and there but no solid numbers until we got to Lucas' on the return home. First drift had everyone hooked up, stayed reasonably hot before we had to beat to home. I had a home-made teaser with a pair of spinner blades and a purple hootchie teaser that was the hot setup for the day. FWIW my wife turned me on to the Japanese style, "Panko" bread crumbs which I've been using for my pan-fried fillets. Very light, good tase and texture for the tender fluke fillets.

| Good to see it turning on a bit there as well. A little early to tell, but it looks to be shaping up for a decent season so far. Panko breadcrumbs...I'll have to keep that in mind. Had some Fluke Parmesan tonight...mmmm (Fluke, pan fried in butter & Mrs Dash Garlic and Herb, a little mooz and a thin covering of sauce), from my wifes slab catch of yesterday. | ||
