If it's what we use, they are asian crabs. Smaller than green crabs.
Heavier claws I call the white claws tog flags ;) , white undersides.
I've caught my biggest togs on tiny ones. Shells no bigger than a quarter.
They seem aggressive and when we've kept them in the same bucket under the dock they'll kill/eat the greens. We feed em' tog racks ;)

Good to see people over here answered your question I see on the other board no one is responding to ya (did you make your donation?). Its easy to see you dont have to be a elite member here to get help with a question. You can't tell me either no one over there (over 10,000 strong as they brag) does not know the answer. Wouldn't be surprised to see them start answering you now. Great site here guys keep up the good work!

Guys they are just stone crabs. Who knows why they call them white crabs because they are not white. While it does seem like togs love them they are a bitch to keep alive !

Stone crabs?? The ones we eat?? Where the claw is pulled off by the fisherman and the remainder of the crab is thrown back to regrow a new claw which will be harvested at a later time?

Looks like they may be white on the underside and those big white claws.
The asians are white underneith also and have white claws.
Mystery solved in any event.

Thanks guys! I've caught some smaller crabs in my traps that had big, powerfull looking white claws but I thought those were Asians. I haven't seen anything like the ones pictured. Anyway, with a CT limit of 4 togs, how fast do you want to catch a limit, anyway? Does anyone sell or use fiddler crabs anymore? Florida fiddlers?

Whites = white leggers = rock crabs

whites is just a local name they are rock crabs I dont know species and genious but I do know they catch Frogs ( more local slang). Its not just the quantity They will produce bigger fish on avg. than greens. The asians work here at times but the whites are better.
