What makes me think "bad things" is that this is the person ahead of me in the "winter flounder catagory" of the "Dream Boat Contest". Was her (4.6) winter flounder a "fluke" of sorts too? What of all the other fish she is supposedly credited with catching?
I have been in the seafood industry for over 30 years and I can say with over 99% confidence that there is "something very fishy" about that fluke. The close ups of the head and particularly the eyes say that the fish had been either dead for awhile and/or dragged dead in a net (the part of the bag that had been "bumping the bottom") for a couple of hours. Draggermen and gillnetters call these types of beat up fish "scalers" and they are worth somewhat less than the better stuff. With fluke, is is sometimes a good move to prep (cut the gills) a large scaler to salvage the price as the meat itself could still be in good enough condition....................JC
