Decided to hit a reef tonight for the fun of it and to have a couple of cocktails. Right away, within minutes I get a 27 inch striper, looking good, right? 7 minutes later a monster porgy, biggest I ever got. Then, NOTHING, yes, NOTHING! Two boats around me are boating 26 and 27 lb stipers like thay were snapper fishing. Me, NOTHING!!! Going to bed, got to beat Full Moon to his boat tomorrow am to "borrow" some bait. LOL Hopefully he flushed his livewell already. LOL

You can look at it thise way...you could have been skunked and watched but you scored some fish. It reminds me of a night the normally hot hand was cold. Im on a Tuna party boat thinking about my last trip the week before where in the first 3 hours I already had 3 fish to the boat in the 60-100# class, plus I caught a zillion mahi. As I sit there drifting my chunk, guy net to me to the left is tight, guy to the right is tight...as a matter of fact everyone seems to be tight exept me and then POW Im on....only to find out Im tight on everyone elses tight lines. LOL On the night I went 0-2 with nothing to show for it Chit happens

| Check my post from last week. I caught a 36 and a 33" on the first drift and then nothing else for the next 4 hours or so. I tossed the 33" back because I was so cocky. Oh well. There are worse things to do beside "fishing". Catching is definitely better though. GP | ||

Here's how I do it.... First I have the cocktails, thens I hit the reef... It could have been worse, we all have those days when we feel like we can write a "How To" book on fishing and then the next we need to buy one... For me, a day on the water is one step closer to heaven, fish or no.

| I agree that it is better to be fishing and that it is better still to be catching. Do think about going out on a charter...it helped,. | ||
