600# Goliath Grouper!!!

Hi,

Here is a video on catching a 8' 600# Goliath grouper. It is a hoot!

This is the best way I know to get you to it.

www.youtube.com

Type chew on this in the search box on the home page.

Page down to "Going to Work"- chew on this. Click on this video, sit back for 22 minutes and enjoy the fun. Some interesting things happen.

Over on Noreast in the General Forum I have a bit of a dialog going on with Capt Ben Chancey. I find it very interesting as I have never done fishing like this. At 67 I don't think now is the time to start.

That guy is a crazy SOB
No help with the boat, no belt to use. He would of been better off tying the 400# line to the bow and hope for the best.

Hi Guys,

There is a running thread on Noreast and Capt Ben Chancey actually is posting with us. I think it is in the General Forum or the forum directly below it. A very interesting and fun read. Ha, hope he never asks me to build him a rod.

I think I will leave all those big fish for you young anglers. Talk about tackle busting fish!!!

Impressive battle for sure. I couldn't do that.

Is that grouper really that large? I've seen 600 pound tuna that looked a lot bigger than that.

Pulling 600 pounds into the boat would take enormous strength as well.
300 pounds is what it looks like.

I agree! 300-350 would be more realistic. Two men couldn't put a 500-600 pound fish into a boat over a gunnell like that. A giant tuna is often harder to get in a tuna door at the water-line........JC
