Dad,

I am about to cry - 100 pund grouper, blue marlin . Did you catch the grouper or the marlin? Did you have fun? Did you get any pictures? Haha.

Ok here is the report. I took about 15 customers to Texas to fish for two days. The weather looked really bad but we went both days, the action was hot but the results were fustrating to say the least. Rain, Mistakes and utter carnage were the words that best describe my weekend

Lets start it off by saying Ive chartered with these guys before and the were excited to show off the 8 new tiagra 30's they just bought. the target species on day one was Wahoo but for some reason they spooled the 30's with 30# test??????? That should sum it up

We fished 6 rods at a time, trolling skirted ballyhoo and wahoo lures in a great looking spread. Everytime we passed the rig basically everything got destryed but everything was busting off. Wire leaders destroyed, skirts and trolling lures ripped apart. No Hoos but we must have caught 30 Huge Cudas, Amberjacks, Jack Crevals etc

Then it happenned, 48 miles offshore the spread fully loaded and making the turn to the rig the right outrigger popped and the fish missed. I thought I saw a bill so I dropped it back when a huge bill came to the surface and a hole the size of a small truck was left in the water. The reel screamed at a pace that was uncontrollable as the marlin raced away from the rig. I battled him for 15 minutes as we chased but ultimately with 30# test the inevatable happenned. He broke loose. After looking at the mono it was very apparent that he had the mono chaffing on his bill the whole time

Day two, more mishapps. Every frigging fish I jigged up, baited up would get eaten by sharks and cudas. I was on fire, everytime I dropped I hooked up. I was outfishing everyone on a JIG!!! When everyone was baitfishing. I used a custom jigging master rod, paired with a accurate 665 and butterfly jigs. The jigs are so expensive I actually cut open a small shark gut just to get my jig back LOL

I tossed about 10 nice size jack, snapper and grouper heads back into the water and prayed I would never have to swim around the rig becuase it was a blood bath. Finally I hooked into a big fish only to see it was a 60" cuda

We went to a wreck and I immediately got nailed fishing a live pinfish. He kicked my ash and when I was all said and done I had a 100# grouper boatside but the 3 numnut customers next to me had dropped while I was fighting and now the line was tangled with two anglers and the buoy cord so the capatin says I will cut them off so we can gaff the bastard.

He cut it loose alright...my f'n grouper that took me 35 minutes to get up from 350 feet of water. Everyone must go through this at somepoint. I realize it was confusing there was mono everywhere all balled up. Everything that could go wrong went wrong but i still hooked a ton of fish and had a great time. The look on his face was priceless when we watched the warsaw swim away...just priceless

There arent alot of picture becuase it poured the whole trip but i will post them later
