A-10 THUNDERBOLT a.k.a. "WARTHOG" LEAVING

First alittle backround.
I work for the MA. Air National Guard in Westfield MA., and these pictures are from my base.
Do to the BRAC ( Base Realignment Commision ) we are loosing our A-10's and getting F15's.
I have worked up here since 94 and have been deployed with this aircraft to help the ground troops on a couple of occasions.( just read my signature )
Although I do not work in aircraft maint. I will miss the aircraft.
Here are a couple of pics. of the first ones leaving.

I have a few more pics. of the hog if you would like me to put them up let me know.

Butt ugly aircraft huh

I was stationed at Barksdale AFB LA and we had a bunch of them. I always enjoyed watching them touch and go.... F15 and F16's too....

B52's still flying? We had them as well. Loud and smokey is what I recall. Of course, this was 20 plus years ago.

Please do, post em up!! I'm in Southhampton next town over. Myself and the kids love to watch them make their approach over our home when coming in for a landing!!! I'll miss them big time!!!

My youngest yells "WARHOGS" then sprints outside to watch them.

Now, when are the F15's coming?

Do to the conversion no air shows or INSPECTIONS for about 2 years after everybody gets trained to fly and fix them.

Here are 2 cool pics. at night, and what I call the working end of the plane.

I used to be stationed at an A-10 base and it was sooo much quieter than the F-16 base that I transfered from. I was a weapons guy, and I have always been amazed by the amount of armament you could load onto the A-10.

I guess I had my head on straight from the beginning as I was in the guard from the start. Started out with the DC air guard at Andrews AFB with the F-16's then transfered over to the Maryland Air Guard with the A-10's. The A-10's were always deployed. Helped pay the bills while I got my degree. When I graduated, I got a bunch of nice job offers along with an offer from Uncle Sam as a 2nd lt. I had student loans, so I chose commercial world. I had a bunch of growing up after high school and that AF basic training really did help turn me from boy to man.

I'm at Lotteryvile in RI.
For what it's worth to those that have responded, our 1st F15 will be here today for "maint. training". Go figure it's tail number is 104.

From what I here after the training it will become a static display because of the tail number.
