This is for all the folks that are interested in aircraft. Unfortunatly we will be losing this plane in the next few years do to the BRAC.

It sucks moving them to western MA. You think they'd prefer all of these nearer the coast. Instead we'll get cargo planes :rolleyes
We used to see these every weekend while fishing in Old Saybrook.
I remember seeing pix of one shot up in the gulf war....takes a lickin and keeps on tickin....looked like they came back with 1/2 the plane missing but were able to land it okay.

I just saw one about a month ago while I was in Old Saybrook. And 2 years ago while walking down the middle of RT 1 in Clinton during the Memorial Day parade one flew right overhead. It was an awesome site and the sound was incredible.

I dunno everytime they try to retire the "warthog" another situation comes up where they need it.IMO the coolest plane in our inventory, slow, ugly but super tough and effective.Ask saddam what he thinks of it..

That's cuz they're POS Brand "X" engines in them - should replace them with the F35 joint strike fighter or the F22 Raptor.

(did I mention the Co I work for makes the engines for the others?....)

I work at the base in w. mass, and we WERE suppose to get ct's planes.
The BRAC closed the base at the cape and we are getting F-15's now.

Have some of those F15 s fly down around Clinton in you would
I'd love to see them.
Those warthogs practiced/played prior to the local parades right across the road from our house over the marsh to the hammonassett river. They'd run back and forth and up and down the river. Couldn't believe how manueverable they are.
One guy was flying his 90 degrees to the ground. We were all out in the road with our mouths open in disbelief.
Hopefully they'll return next year. Will have a camera ready!!!
