It's definately the hardest part of having a pet.
We lost a cat last January. He was a real character and
a part of the family.
It'll be tough, but you're doing the right thing for him.

Thanks guys but damn it if this cat isn't determined!!!!

We fed him all thru the night every couple/few hours, a couple teaspoons at a time thru a plastic syringe. Also gave him some doses of a super vitamin gel......and he actually got up on his own to drink.....and was able to get some sleep, as he must have started feeling better. We slept on the couches to keep an eye on him.

By this am, we decided we can't do it yet. He showed way too much improvement! Totally unexpected. His color is coming back, he got up to use his litter box, he's purring LOUDLY, and even started cleaning himself again.

So we took him to what was to be his last appt, but this time only to get him more fluids and shots, and the vet couldn't believe what he saw.

Maybe it's temporary, but he's a strong S.O.B......and the vet said he just may come out of it with our care. He's getting his appetite back stronger and stronger.....he deserves a chance!

The way he looked this AM, there was just no way in hell we could put him down....he's trying.

We'll keep our fingers crossed!

Thanks for all the kind words.....you guys are all great during tough times!

Jim, you MAY still have a couch-buddy when you stay here in March for RISAA

Well, Bighead lost his battle yesterday. Went downhill all of a sudden in 1 day and when my wife took him to the vets, and after an x-ray, she called me at work and said we should put him down.

Killed me the rest of the day. Broke thru a foot of frost late last night and put him to rest though. Really killed me, never thought I'd miss a cat so much........he was one COOL CAT!

Sorry, Jim, you lost your couch-buddy for end of March.
