Charter Captan Question

I have a question for all of the charter captains on this board. If you had a charter on board and you were headed out of the harbor and just as you were about to speed up you have an engine problem that is not repairable on the water and you are forced back to the dock, how would you handle it.

What would you do for the customer? Is it just sorry guys or would you do anything to retain that client?

I would do a free or reduced fee trip (depending on the type of the trip)when the boat was back in action

My boat is fine. Thanks for asking.

I had it happen to me as a customer yesterday and I was very displeased with the way the captain handled it. So before I go bashing anyone I wanted to get an overall opinion from other captains. I know what I would have done in that situation and it certainly was not what this guy did, or didn't do. Just trying to be fair.

No BS

Matt, I'm not a charter Capt. so I can't give you an answer, BUT, if you give me the name of the boat I can take care of some business in his livewell. LOL

Thanks Carl, I knew I could count on you. His deposit would need to be in the engine compartment though. Can you customize your delivery? LOL
