Relentless

Good Morning,

Watching the news this AM they are reporting what we are seeing here in the Northeast on a daily basis. Home heating oil is now averaging $3.05 gallon along with gasoline right around $3.00 also. Diesel fuel on the roads is over $3.50 per gallon and the trucking industry will pass that cost on to the vendor and it will eventually be passed on to the consumer. Natural gas prices are also increasing and this will have an unbelievable effect on our nation. I would not expect high volume retail sales this holiday season and the elderly on a fixed income are in a very tough situation when those social security checks only go so far.

I will save for fuel oil by eating out less with my family, consolidating runs to stores, the boat, and other places into one trip and purchasing an electronic thermostat for the house along with a tune up and cleaning on my furnace. If this situation continues, and I believe it will I am going to research moving a little south to either NC or FL with my other retired Coast Guard friends. I could never live inland, let’s say AZ or NV, I would go stir crazy not being around the water.

Finally, once again we will have to have a fairly large increase on our fishing charters due to the high cost of diesel.

Thanks for letting me vent on this critical situation in our government as the big oil companies continue to gouge the American public.

We can only blame ourselves.........these companies want huge profits to pay out big bonuses to the CEO's. Like any business they are there to make a profit.............

I feel for the Walmart greeter driving to work at $3.00/gallon, paying top dollar for all their medical needs, and barely making it...........

If you move South be sure there is water there, another problem in it's self......
