Been there... 5 hours, three tree farms, 40 miles of walking, drag the muddy thing home...Two hours making sure it's plumb, then put up the lights to find out the middle string ,that was working is not any longer, clean up the needles for the next 6 months..... The look on the kids face on christmas morning.......Priceless.

Safe and happy holiday to all

I'm lucky - My wife likes "Charlie Brown" trees - 10 minutes down the road, 10 minutes walking, cut and drag 2 minutes back to the office pay and toss it in the pickup.

Nothing like the smell of that tree - and nothing like taking it back down 2 weeks later - By 5 pm Dec 26 our house is de-Christmafied and stowed for the next 11 months & 2 weeks....

Big John Leyden's Tree Farm every year. But I tip one of the kids to cut it with the chainsaw 'cuz every year there's snow by the time we get our tree. I don't get it till a couple weeks into Dec.

Always a Concolor too.....smell like citrus, it's awesome, and they don't drop needles like crazy or prick you

When the kids were little and still lived home we did.
It was a ritual. Every Thanksgiving weekend we'd go
tag it and the kids always brought a 9' long orange and black scarf
to mark their turf LOL.
Then two weeks before Christmas we'd go back and let them
try to find it. Take turns with the bow saw until trunk properly mangled, then I'd finish by cutting it just above previous "beaver chew marks".
Let them drag it back to the truck and head home for hot chocolate and the never ending..."is it straight in the stand"???????? "is it straight now"??????
"anyone up there still looking at it"????????? LOL
Now they get to take the grandkids and do the same.
Maggie and I just get a little one, precut, now.

I hear ya chainsaw. My wife is the same way.

I think I'm gonna beat her to the punch this year though. I'm gonna go to a couple of farms, tell the guy whats going on and tag a couple trees at each farm. Knowing my wife she will still bitch. Oh well what's a man to do ,and they wonder why we drink.

We've got the perfect tree right in the backyard and I'd love to cut the sucker down. My wife love's her fake tree though and won't have nothing to do with a real one. She says her tradition is the same tree, same bulbs, same set up. She does all the work, I pay all the bills and don't argue with the setup.
