I had the big oil truck come down to the house yesterday and deliver a measly 150 gallons at $3.45 a gallon making it $517.35. If I filled it, it would have been over $900.00. This is also by one of the cheaper COD companies around. This is getting bad and I had a discussion with the office (after a very small fuel spill in driveway). The manager is a boater also and he was telling me that as of 01 Jan the Government changed the sulfer requirements for marine diesel to be the same as road use. This is the supply and demand issue that is driving diesel both at road pumps and at marinas through the roof. I already went up this year on prices and may have to go up again another $10.00 a head for those who have not booked yet due to the barrel price raising each day by $1-$2. I feel bad for those who are unemployed or elderly who need to heat their homes, we are in a very dismal situation here. Dave Last edited by Relentless; 03-12-2008 at 05:52 PM. | ||

| Dismal is an understatement relative this topic. The whole catastrophe is insane, and driven by not only OPEC, but our ratty, greedy government and large oil companies. The "recession" that isn't happening will only go on for much longer, unless, the federal government intervens in a logical manner (never gonna happen) or we, the consumer, begin rationing our usage and almost self-imposing the 70's approach to fueling up again. | ||

| Boy oh Boy I just got the contract for next years heating oil which I normally don't get until May or June. They are offering it @ $3.29 a gallon. Last year I bought 750 gallons @ $2.29 a gallon and thought that was crazy. Boat, truck, crack habit. Something must go. | ||

| We just paid $3.29/gallon on our last fill up. I also keep records of previous bills to check gallons, prices etc. Last year it was $2.32/gallon for the same period. Not sure where this is going to end but the summer prices are not looking good. There will certainly be fewer boats out there. Gas at the corner shell station was the equivalent, almost, of last year's price at the marina fuel dock. $3.39 !

| just ordered 200 gallons today, couldn't wait any longer hoping for a down turn. 3.39 cash price. more than gasoline??? somebody is screwing us majorly! my diesel was 3.99 9/10ths this week. dosen't diesel & fuel oil require LESS refining than gasoline? as far as fishing & boating i do not believe you will see any less of us out there. we may be staying closer to home but let's not misplace our priorities! | ||
