| Recently an old gas station around the corner re-opened in Clinton. Gator Creek Farms opened it, next door to their vegetable stand. The price has been remarkably low since they opened up an when asked why, they said "to start an old fashioned Gas War". Meantime the Mobil station less than a 1/2 mile away has dropped their price from $4.34 to $4.07 an still seems to be able to stay open. The Shell station 1/2 mil the other way has not been as smart and remains at $4.35 however they do have cobwebs on the pumps now. The little mom/pop Gator Gas is selling gas for $4.07/gallon and $.05 off per gallon with cash purchase. ![]() Only wish they had pumps on the water too!

| That kicks ass. I noticed yesterday, when driving out to Cabelas, that there is (as we all know) something very crooked going on around this country, and this state (CT), with gas prices. West Hartford, on Rt 44, is selling for around 4.36/G (in Canton,Avon,Simsbury it is 4.46), however, in Hartford, still on Rt 44 (North End) gas is selling for 4.21/G. Now this is huge by any means, but a 0.25 fluctuation in price, within 11 miles is complete ludicrous. | ||

| The story was on channel 61 last night. go to link and click on gas war to view it on their site. Fox 61 WTIC-TV Connecticut Clinton has always had the highest area prices (zone pricing rollseyes) and traveling one town east, west, north the prices were cheaper. This should mess with the local stations, especially with the July 4th weekend approaching.

| Thats crazy. Pretty soon I can see some great depression is going to happen over these gas prices. And I did some looking up on it about if we are going to run out of gas. Peak Oil: Life After the Oil Crash Here is the website. Civilization as we know it is coming to an end soon. This is not the wacky proclamation of a doomsday cult, apocalypse bible prophecy sect, or conspiracy theory society. Rather, it is the scientific conclusion of the best paid, most widely-respected geologists, physicists, bankers, and investors in the world. These are rational, professional, conservative individuals who are absolutely terrified by a phenomenon known as global "Peak Oil."

| Just talked to a guy today who is the first mate on gasoline tanker ship. He usually works 65 days on and the same off. I had seen him in awhile so I asked him where hes been. He told me he had to put in 15 days overtime at sea because the couldnt unload. Every terminal was at maximum capacity. Shortage of gas my ass. There's your proof.

| Read a article in this mornings Hartford Courant, oil folks are predicting $4.79 a gallon for heating oil this winter. There is no shortage of greed for sure. Looks like a run on electric blankets this fall. | ||
