It wasn't such a long drop to the ground when you were 2 feet tall...
I remember seein' kids on the slopes auger into the ground and just shake it off - there's just not as much inertia for a kid with a 54 lb frame as opposed to a fat-azz like me - put 200lbs into motion and it becomes exponentially harder to stop -

I hate gravity anymore....

OUCH. sorry to hear about this! on the bright side it was at the end of the fishing season...right? man, i can picture myself doing the exact same thing too. the whole time i'd be looking at the vice grips thinking 'don't let go, don't let go, don't let go'...get well soon.

Thanks again for your support. I am going in tommorow for the first of many surgeries. they are going to do a bone graff from my wrist to reconstruct my missing thumb bones. they will check what other damage is done while they have me open and see what can be done to reattatch tendons and nerves. On the brighter side friends finished the job for me and the boat is inside and warm for the winter. Dan
