Unhappy R.I.P. My Friend........

Well, many of you saw what we were going through in this past thread, with our dog Kobie, his cancer, and his recent surgeries.....

http://www.nbssportfishing.com/vBfor...ust-suck-6968/

He was almost fully recovered from that, and doing great, but yesterday hit a bad snag. Had what we thought was a severe seizure (he's had a few seizures before).

Landed him at the Animal Hospital yesterday, and was treated for a seizure. Long story short, after a long 24 hours, staying home with him yesterday and up all night long, we brought him to our regular vet this AM, since he was still crying and couldn't use his back legs at all. We knew something was very wrong.

She said he had every indication of several blood clots, a bad one in his femoral artery affecting his legs and tail, as his legs were blue and cold, another in his brain, making his pupils different sizes, and possibly even one in his lung(s), given his slightly labored breathing.

There is nothing that can be done at that point, and it wasn't necessarily wvwn due to the surgeries, though a complication like that at any time obviously is a strong possibility. He was in pain.

We had no other choice but to have him put to sleep this morning, and it really ruined us. This is the part of owning and loving pets that really sucks.....bad. This one is going to be VERY hard to recover from.

He went thru so much the last month and a half, and was doing so well......poor guy......

He lays to rest in the back next to Bighead, who several of you had the pleasure of knowing, especially Jim, being woken up by his ass-breath in the early mornings before fishing.

He was such a GOOD & gentle/affectionate dog, with a very unique and people-like personality. Anyone who has ever had a Siberian Husky as a pet will fully understand how unique the bond is........but we had Kobie to "fall back on" when we put our last Husky down, Kaila......made it a LITTLE easier......

The quiet in the house today is eerie, and we are not doing well........but time heals all, although we would never imagine that right now.....

Rest In Peace, my friend.........

Wow. As I said to you earlier today, I am very sorry for your loss. Losing a dog is painful venture (as is any pet), since they become part of your family. Time heals the wounds, but doesn't stop the hurt.
