Todays USA Weekend Magazine which is in many Sunday papers has an article on the Red Sox Nation. I still dont get it though. A city so steeped in the history of this country, with a football team called the Patriots(choke, choke), and the best you could do was name your baseball team after a hedious colored piece of clothing. Time for a contest for a better name. Happy Easter to all you New Englanders. ![]()

| Happy Easter It's hard to think of the Red Sox with any other name. It's like changing the name of Fenway Park or the Green Monster.

| If you want to talk about choking and baseball, lets not forget the biggest choke artist of all time in the post season....Your big joke of Yankee slugger, Mr Alex Rodriguez.....Please read this closely as it is almost tough to comprehend... “Since Game 4 of the 2004 ALCS — the night Boston began its epic comeback from three games down against the Yankees — (Alex) Rodriguez has come to the plate with 38 runners on base, over the span of 59 at-bats. He left every single one on base, going 0-for-27, right through the Yanks’ Division Series loss to Cleveland last October.” The curse of A-Rod will continue for the Spanks in 08' GO SOX | ||

| I'm justing busting chops. I acually hate pro sports and the role it plays in kids lifes these days. The only team sport my son plays is soccer. AROD and all the other getto millionares will never see my hard earned money. Its a shame because I grew up in a family that had season Jets tickets. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ||

As a huge Patriots fan all I can say is they did not choke. They got beaten by a better team in the SB. Going 18-0 and not winning the superbowl was a huge disapointment. They did not show up with their A game and the Giants were the Patriots of 2001. They were predicted to loose and they came out with a huge rush and played smash mouth football. My hat is off to them. It was a close game and to me a choke is being up three games and loosing the next four like the Yankees. The Red Sox are deep with tradition and history and they would never even consider changing the name. Something tells me Steve, as the kids looked for Easter Eggs in the yard, you were dipping into the EGG NOG today. You would have to have a few to think fans of RED SOX NATION would even consider this. God, we need the fishing to start so we can get back on track. Happy Easter Steve. Dave

| I will agree that the Patriots were indeed beaten by the NY Giants however with that said, regardless of the way or fashion of the loss it will go down as one of sports greatest collapses maybe behind my Yankees series loss which BTW I was at and painfull left with my tail between my legs. I will tell you why, they were the unbeatable, pegged by every media source as the best ever. With Brady at the leader, Belicheck at the helm they basically had a free ticket to sports immortality. The spread was rediculous, certain Pats scoffed at the idea of being held to a minimum score and they just couldnt loose. Hell even here the average posted score by NBS members was like a 42-7 routing. On paper they had the best players, had the best coach and synergy. Unfortunately IMHO some of the Patriots didn't show up for the game and the Giants took it to them In the end, maybe it wasn't a choke but it definately a collapse of epic proportions | ||
